Thimbles and ferrules
Get our POWERTEX user manual for wire rope clamps
Steel wire ropes can only be used as load-bearing components in combination with rope end connections. Rope end connections are the loop splices and the rope ends connected with fittings. Wire rope end connections for the formation of suspension eyes are nowadays mostly made by means of press clamps. There are also other names for rope end connections, e.g. rope end attachment, rope anchorage and rope suspension, such as thimbles and ferrules for instance. The connection of two rope ends is called a rope connection.
